From standards to practice. From farm to trust.
ISRI is a field-level enablement and transparency system. We convert global sustainability standards and regulatory requirements into the daily practices of farmers and workers — from farm to first point of processing.
The problem
Supply chains are failing at the source.
Two decades of standards and certification have defined what responsible production looks like. Certificates are issued. Yet the people who grow, harvest and process our food remain largely unreached, unsupported and invisible.
This is not a standards problem. It is an implementation problem.
The gap is between the standard and the farmer — where requirements must become daily practice, and where workers must become visible. That is where ISRI works.
What we do
We work where certification stops.
ISRI is not a certification body, an audit firm or a policy think tank. We work at the last mile, where standards must become behaviour.
Simplify standards
Complex global requirements become simple, visual, language-appropriate practices farmers can adopt every day.
Make labour visible
Worker registration, wage tracking and grievance mechanisms built before auditors arrive — not because of them.
Capture real supply chains
Lot-based tracking and farmer-to-aggregator mapping that documents the informal flows formal systems miss.
Scope
Farm to first point of processing.
Risk does not stop at the farm gate. The most severe social risks intensify at aggregation points and processing units. ISRI operates across all three levels.
Farm
Smallholder fields, ponds and plantations. Farmer enablement, practice adoption, labour literacy, record-keeping.
Aggregation
Traders, middlemen and collection points. Supply chain mapping, lot tracking, informal flow capture, buyer linking.
Processing
Peeling sheds, ginning units and mills. Worker registration, wage documentation, shift tracking, grievance systems.
Programmes
Six modules. One integrated system.
Farmer Enablement
Visual SOPs and field officers that turn standards into daily practice.
Module 2Labour Transparency
Worker registration, wage tracking and grievance systems from farm to plant.
Module 3Traceability
Lot-based tracking that captures the hidden harvest formal systems miss.
Module 4FPO Strengthening
Paper producer organisations made into functional compliance units.
Module 5Data & Impact
Farmer-level evidence — every data point has a name and a location.
Module 6Market Linkages
Enabled farmers connected to buyers who value responsible practice.
Why ISRI is different
Three shifts in how field outcomes are achieved.
From audit to behaviour
Conventional approaches assess what exists at a point in time. We build the behaviour and systems that evaluators later verify — farms that are ready, not temporarily prepared.
From visibility gaps to continuous visibility
Certification can coexist with exploitation when workers are invisible. We embed worker documentation and grievance systems as a default, not an audit requirement.
From partial chains to full reality
Formal traceability tracks the compliant chain. We map the real one — informal aggregation, hidden production, undocumented flows.
Sectors
Where we work
The underlying problems — farmer invisibility, labour informality, broken traceability — are the same across sectors. The contexts differ.
Agriculture
Cotton, spices, palm oil, tea, coffee and other smallholder commodities under sector schemes, EUDR and organic standards.
Aquaculture
Shrimp, fish and seaweed farming — where labour conditions, processing-level risk and traceability gaps are most acute.
Forestry
Community forestry, agroforestry and plantations facing chain-of-custody and deforestation-free verification requirements.
Institutional model
ISRI builds trust at the source. S360 builds systems at scale.
ISRI
- Field implementation — farmer engagement and ecosystem development
- Neutrality and trust across every stakeholder relationship
- Funded by grants, CSR and development finance
S360
- Digital infrastructure — data collection, traceability, dashboards
- Commercial interface for exporters, certification bodies and institutions
- Scale and integration with buyer and market systems
Build transparent supply chains from the source.
We invite CSR leaders, exporters, certification bodies and development organisations to work with us — starting where it matters most.
